Hi, I’m Vivian J. Goshashy.

I’m a Cybersecurity student at Bellevue College with a strong foundation in Applied Mathematics (B.S. & M.S.). My academic background equips me with the analytical skills to break down complex systems and design effective defenses against evolving digital threats.

Focus Areas & Experience:
-
Cloud & Network Security: Hands-on experience with AWS, system protection, and network configurations.
-
Projects That Deliver: From cloud and network security labs to my evolving portfolio site, I turn technical knowledge into practical, real-world solutions. Most of my code is available on GitHub.
-
Problem-Solving with Impact: Combining math-driven analysis, AI awareness, and clear communication to tackle cybersecurity challenges effectively.

What Sets Me Apart:
-
AI & Security Intersection: Passionate about defending against AI-powered threats like phishing campaigns and deepfakes.
-
Communication Skills: As an AI modeling trainer and Graduate Assistant, I’ve mastered explaining complex ideas simply a critical skill in cybersecurity where human behavior is often the weakest link.
-
Mission-Driven: Committed to contributing to resilient systems, empowering teams, and educating users, because the strongest defense combines technology and people.

I’m eager to connect, collaborate, and contribute to projects that make digital spaces safer. Let’s explore how my skills in mathematics, cybersecurity, and AI can deliver real impact for your team.

Education
2025 - present
Bellevue College
Upon completing the Cybersecurity program at Bellevue College, I will have a strong foundation in network security, cloud computing, and cybersecurity principles. So far, I’ve completed Networking I, AWS Cloud Foundations, and IT Essentials, which have prepared me for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam and CompTIA Security+ certification. As I continue the program, I will gain hands-on experience with tools and techniques used in real-world cybersecurity operations, preparing me for entry-level roles in cloud security, network defense, and security analyst.
2021 - 2023
Eastern Washington University
I completed a Master of Science in Applied Mathematics at Eastern Washington University, where I focused on advanced mathematical modeling, data analysis, and real-world problem solving. My thesis research centered on theoretical epidemiology, where I analyzed the dynamics of infectious disease spread using differential equations and stability analysis. Throughout the program, I developed strong analytical and programming skills using tools such as Python, R, and Mathematica, and applied mathematical theory to practical challenges in science, engineering, and public health.
2019 - 2021
Central Washington University
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics from Central Washington University, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematical theory, computational methods, and data analysis. My coursework included calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, statistics, and numerical methods. During my studies, I also gained hands-on experience with programming in MATLAB and Python, preparing me to apply mathematical modeling and problem-solving skills in both academic and industry settings.
